A great group gathered for a fun night with Toastmasters on Thursday night. Jane chaired a fun meeting with a theme of New Years Resolutions. Jane had a funny resolution for each member that was at the meeting.
George gave a tribute to Canada reminding us all that we live in a country where we can celebrate the holiday season. Diane Bender encouraged us to use the word wheedle. This is a verb which means the use of soft words to flatter someone. There was a lot of wheedling during our fun filled meeting.
Allan tried something new for literary corner. He enlightened us with a question and answer weather trivia quiz. It was a fun quiz where Allan practiced his reading skills and with audience participation. Very well done Allan!
Brenda presented speech number four from the CTM manual. Her humorous speech was called "Lost things - Things Found". We all could identify with Brenda on things that get lost during the busy holiday season. (I still cannot find the Christmas gift that I hid for my spouse).
George presented the induction ceremony for Gary. We all welcomed Gary to our club. Audrey was in charge of Table Topics. We all had fun speaking for two minutes on a proverb which we were given. Gary won table topics.
John evaluated Brenda's speech. John presented an award winning evaluation for Brenda with many glow points and grow points. Gary was Quiz Master. He complimented us on the quality of our quotes. Gary included quotes from everyone including himself. Keith finished the evening as General Evaluator.
Our next meeting is on January 13th with the theme of Small Claims Court. It will be another exciting meeting. Everyone is invited so bring a friend. If you miss one meeting, you miss a lot.
