Meeting - Thursday September 21, 2006

Theme: Humorous Speech and Table Topics Contest
Call to order by Marie at 7:15 pm. She welcomed all members, guests and visitors from the Mt Forest Motivators.
Keith chaired the humorous contest. He warmed up the audience with his wallet speech. Jane was chief judge and explained the rules and purpose of the humourous contest.

Diane - Frazzled

The second phase of our contest was the Table Topics portion. Caroline Beren was the chairperson. The topic was "WHO DID THAT?"
There were six contestants:
Brian, Sheryl, Allan, Jane, Audrey,Gary- a great job by everyone.

And the winners of the Humorous speech were: Marie - First Place, Diane - Second place

Table topics winners were First place - Audrey, Second Place -Allan, third place - Brian
Way to go contestants- it was a very enjoyable evening.
Marie and Audrey will be representing Linguists of Listowel at the area contest Oct 4, 2006 in Harriston.
The Western Division Humorous Speech and Table Topics contest will be held at the Kin Station in Listowel on Friday October 20th. That evening you will see 8 outstanding humorous speakers and 8 brilliant Toastmasters that love Table topics from across south-western Ontario. Western Division consists of over 600 Toasmaster members from Owen Sound to Guelph to Cambridge to Kitchener- Waterloo to London and to the lake. Listowel is now the center of our Division. Members of the community are welcome to attend.
