Brian has fun with “My Favourite actor/actress is” theme at our weekly Toastmaster meeting. He skillfully chaired the meeting as he told each member why they resembled a famous actor or actress. The Toastmaster members were transformed into everyone from Mr. Bean to Judge Judy.
George did the call to order by telling us that the Linguists of Listowel Murder Mystery crew was his pick for best actors and actresses. George also gave a toast to Queen Victoria and to Canada. Jane presented two words for language enricher. Effusive: which is an adjective meaning excessively demonstrative. Topsy-Turvy: This means in utter confusion or disorder. Sheryl read an article for literary corner. Keith presented an Education Module called “Creating the Best Club Climate”.
Ken had fun with table topics. Half the members were the producers and the other half were the actors/actresses. There was no clear winner although Audrey did get picked many times. Keith presented speech number one from the Interpretive Reading manual. Jane presented a speech about Josh Groban and then played one of his pieces on the piano. Marie evaluated Keith’s interpretive reading and there was a round table evaluation for Jane. Audrey kept us listening and guessing for quizmaster. Linda P summed up the evening as General Evaluator.
Be sure to attend our next meeting on June 1st with the theme “The places you will see and visit during the holidays. Same Place – Same Time.
