It was Book Review time at the weekly Toastmaster meeting in Listowel. It was an evening full of laughter and fun. It was a night where we used the language enricher word a record number of times. It was a night where we gained a new member. Thank you David W for joining our exciting club. Nicole was our guest for our meeting.
Sheryl started the meeting with a complimentary welcome to Brian, the chair for the meeting. Brian kept the meeting running smoothly as he introduced each member as a character from a book. Brian told us his favourite book is called “Hitchhiking Through the Galaxy”.
Gary toasted Canada by reminding everyone about our freedoms that we have. Freedoms to read any book we like. George was language enricher. His word was “Shilly Shalley”. It is a verb which means; to act in an undecided manner or to hesitate. The word was used 11 times during the meeting. One person used it three times in table topics.
Jane entertained everyone with tongue twisters. She had everyone in the room read one tongue twister. Keith presented the “Going Beyond the Club” Educational Module. Everyone had fun with Audrey’s table topics. She had each member take a book and do a one minute book review. Keith won this round of table topics.
Brian wrapped up the meeting with another humorous story. Please attend our next meeting on Thursday May 25th starting at 7:14 pm. The theme is “My favourite actor/actress is……..
