April 13, 2006

There was a fun Easter egg hunt as the Linguists of Listowel gathered for their weekly meeting. Heidy opened the meeting with a very funny story on an Easter egg hunt. She skillfully chaired the meeting. Linda M provided the Toast to Canada. Linda used to live in London, England and told us how lucky Canadians are to live in a country where there is a feeling of security.

Brian explained the difference between the words Affluent meaning wealthy and Effluent which means waste or sewage. He encouraged us to use both words during our meeting. Jane read us an Easter story about painting eggs with love.

Marie presented an off the cuff speech called “When did I turn into my mother”. This very humorous story was very entertaining. Keith presented an Educational Workshop called “Visionary Leader” from the Leadership Excellence Series. Jane presented the Point of View. Her point was that there should be a national holiday every year for an Easter egg hunt. Jane is still a kid at heart. Harvey presented the counter point of view.

Heidy presented a fun round of table topics. She made the members used a unique accent to read a story. Brian won this round of table topics. Linda P was second with her cowboy accent. It was a very humorous round of table topics. Brian gave everyone some very value grow and glow points as he presented his general evaluation of the meeting.
