Good Morning Linguists of Listowel,
Wasn't that a powerful meeting last night? Fifteen enthusiastic members were happy to be back at Toastmasters after the Easter Break. The agenda was full and everyone fulfilled their roles exceptionally well. I know because I was general evaluator. Brent Jemmett was chairperson and carried the theme “Let’s Scream for Ice Cream” throughout the evening. Loyal Toast & Timer: Audrey Orth, ATMG shared some history of ice cream. Grammarian: Jessica Kelly, CC gave us the word “Interlard” which was used 17 times. Literary Corner: Marie McCutcheon, DTM – she read an original ice cream story. Speaker #1: Speech #2 CC Marilyn Hynes “Don’t Tick off the Property Manager” Speaker #2: Speech #10 CC Heidi Menzi “Horticulture”
Rhea led Table Topics and it was great to see everyone describe their favourite ice cream flavours. Jessica Kelly earned the table topics trophy.
Brian Camacho presented an Education Module "Evaluations" that explained the importance of effective evaluations. Keith and Jane listened well and gave awesome evaluations to Marilyn and Heidi. Chairperson Brent closed the meeting and everyone enjoyed ice cream snacks provided by Sharon D’Arcey.
