Theme “Summer Jobs

Chairperson Marie called the meeting to order at 7:15. She read a short story from Dr Phil McGraw’s book about his first summer job. There were high expectations followed by many disastrous complications – but it was a learning experience!
Diane gave the loyal toast and mentioned the many surprises that can happen at a Canadian Auction sale.
Marie gave members one minute to write all of the summer jobs they could think of. Some of the top ones were food service, painting, lawn mowing, factory work and picking stones.
Keith conducted summer job interviews. He posed several questions so that he could determine who would be best suited to look after his cats for the summer. Jane won the interview process.
Jane presented a 10 minute speech – “Please close the door and …” She described her experiences with Sweet Adeline’s. Over the past year she has learned a lot about singing and came home with several prizes from her competition in Grand Rapids Michigan.
Sheryl evaluated her speech.
George had everyone describing a summer job for table topics. Leo and Marie were the table topic winners.
Marie closed the meeting
