Linguists of Listowel
May 10, 2007
Theme “Campaigns”

Chairperson Marie called the meeting to order at 7:15. She asked for introductions to include who you are and who you’d like to be. Ezra gave the loyal toast and served as timer for the meeting. Wendy introduced Amy who presented her fourth speech on Show what you mean. She spoke about ways to save the environment. She encouraged members to change to the new energy efficient light bulbs, unplug appliances that are not being used and to bring your own bags to the grocery store. Sheryl evaluated Amy’s speech.
Election of Officers was next on the agenda. Each member gave a campaign speech before being elected to office.
Here is your beautiful, wonderful, amazing 2007-2008 Officers for the Linguists of Listowel.

Amy introduced Wendy who shared her very descriptive love story. She is an awesome speaker and introduced us to R.A.F. and his Beaumont automobile. Jane evaluated her speech.
Diane was in charge of table topics. She challenged everyone to take one gift from the basket and then to make a one minute thank you speech for the gift and tell how you would use it in the future. Wendy won the table topics award.
Next weeks theme is “Long weekends”
After the regular meeting Marie called an executive meeting to plan for the summer and fall.
