Meeting - Thursday October 6, 2005
Theme: Please Pass the Turkey

This proved to be another fun filled meeting with the theme "Please Pass the Turkey." Audrey O stepped in as chairperson, and had lots of turkey stories as she introduced each participant.

George N in his loyal toast had us remembering all we have to be thankful for as did Marie M in her poem. Language Enricher, Keith S introduced the word ingratiate" meaning " to bring oneself into favour with" and used it to "butter up" Audrey, our chairperson. Keith won table topics with his redition of coping with Thanksgiving , so must have got Audrey's vote. Allan M had lots of fun with table topics as we described how we copr with Thanksgiving. Heidy S presented her humorous speech "No Fool". She will be representing Top Drawer Advanced Club in the Division Humorous Contest, competing against Keith S, winner of our Area 18. Linda P was second in the Area Contest, and Jane S placed second in the Table Topics Contact.
