January 3, 2008

Hi Everyone:What a great meeting last night to begin 2008!
Audrey Orth chaired the meeting very well with the Snowbirds theme. Everyone was named a snowbird and Audrey included some interesting facts on her selected birds. Marie McCutcheon was able to whisper out a great toast to Canada and successfully used one timer throughout the entire evening. George Nichol had an informative literary corner on Snowbirds (referring to people) and interesting migrating facts to the sunny south. Brent Jemmett entertained us with his literary corner with Casey at the Bat. Keith Stoltz had the rare opportunity to be interviewed by Opera Winfield last night on his latest website Foodkm.com. Leo Brisbois gave an informative talk on can you hear me?..although most of us had a difficult time hearing him!Jane Stoltz presented Table Topics with members taking a puff ball soaked in a mystery solution and how that smell brought back memories from their childhood. Both Diane Bender and Wayne Stoltz gave excellent evaluations to our speakers last evening. Brent Jemmett was the Table Topics winner. The meeting adjourned at 8:45 p.m. with some great treats from Marie. Thank you.P.S. Marie, I have your container and will bring back next week. Please help out Marie on next week's agenda and volunteer for a role for Thursday January 10th. Take care,JaneP.S. We had 3 guests out...so the men are ahead winning 2 to 1 over the females!
