Lights, camera, action! It was a Fathers Day video taping of our weekly Toastmaster meeting. The meeting was taped so Brenda would be able to watch one of our meetings again. Brian was our chair for the meeting. He told us many funny stories about fathers. New member Dave toasted men’s health week. Sheryl gave us the word “Philomath” for language enricher. Philomath is a noun which means “a scholar” or “a lover of learning”.
George read a very humourous story called “Suicide Hill”. Marie kept everyone laughing with table topics. Each member had to portray a famous father. George won table topics with a very funny about his father called Peter Pan.
Keith presented Point of View on why we should have Father’s Day every month. Linda M presented the Counter Point of View. Linda P was the quizmaster and Audrey was the General Evaluator.
The meeting ended with some fun Father’s Day refreshments. Plan to attend our next meeting with the theme of Canada Day Celebrations.
